Zoe Myers celebrating her 25th birthday and music video premier

Zoe Myers premiered her new music video “Destiny Knows My Name” last Saturday at East Andrews Cafe & Bar.  The event was extra special as Myers also celebrated her 25th birthday.

The first few people to arrive were extravagantly dressed, but the atmosphere soon became more laid back as a younger crowd entered the space, sporting less formal attire.  The DJ played different genres of popular music, a diverse selection that kept the crowd moving.

Soon the lights dimmed and the music stopped as “Destiny Knows My Name” showed across a large screen in front of the audience.  The video started off in black and white then quickly transitioned to color.  Images of Myers smiling and having fun with friends accentuated the song’s hopeful lyrics, crowd-pleaser for sure.

After the premier of the video, Myers made a glowing appearance wearing an eye-catching, sparkling, black dress with black pumps.  Everyone in the room began to sing happy birthday to the young performer.  The serenade was sealed with a sound of applause.

She’s a very interesting singer with a unique sound that’s a little bit country, a little bit pop, and a whole lot of other things rolled into one.

Myers speaking to her guests

As Foster The People’s ”Pumped Up Kicks” played in the background, Myers told Tastemaker that she doesn’t believe she fits in a particular genre of music. When asked what message she wants fans to take away from her music, she replied, “Just stay true to yourself.”

I’m sure that’s a message that all you Tastemakers out there can appreciate.  Don’t just take my word for it, go to iTunes, download her new single and see for yourselves.
