Queen’s Pick: New Orleans Hidden Gem

By Tastemaker — June 21, 2011

At first glance, this white table cloth restaurant with a no t-shirt or shorts requirement, nestled in the heart of the French Quarter seems uninviting and stuffy. Take a closer glance and you will realize that Commander’s Palace (www.commanderspalace.com) is bustling with life. From Grilled Porterhouse of Colorado Lamb to Crispy Soft Shelled Crab, you are sure to find something that is exceptionally pleasing to the palate. My favorite dish? The dessert of course! The Creole Bread Pudding Souffle is to die for! On Saturdays and Sundays, you will find a special menu carved out just for their Jazz Brunch featuring live New Orleans Jazz by Joe Simon’s Jazz Trio.
Commander’s Palace is a sure choice whether you are looking for great food or live entertainment!

It is hard to please Queen, but this restaurant gets five stars from me!

Wow, I love the exterior of the restaurant, such a welcoming photo. I immediately fantasized of having a lovely brunch with my favorite friends. The Creole bead pudding looks delicious. From the west coast I will be definitely visiting this The Commandors Palace when I vacation in New Orleans!

I really enjoyed the article. I am a big fan of lamb so that sounds like a great menu to me. As a traveler, I look forward to reading more restaurant reviews from you. There is nothing worse than going to a new city and trying to "guess" what restaurant will have good food. Keep up the great work!
