Although she didn’t say why  it was her favorite segment, we could allude to the fact that she loved how Willow opened up about how the Red Table Talk helped her understand who her mother and “Grammy” was outside of their roles of mother and grandmother.

Willow became emotional at the end of Part 1 of Red Table Talk and as the cameras were shutting down she told her Mom she had more to say, so the trio came back to the table for more discussion.

Throughout the conversation between the ladies, we felt there were Aha moments, pain released and as a a viewer we understand more now why Jada gives her children freedom and the choice of self expression at such a young age. Just in case you need more convincing as to why sitting down with your family is important, we’ve outlined below five reasons why families should have table talk.

1. Table Talk can create a “safe place”- embrace the idea of table talk and make your table (whatever color) your families “safe place” where what comes to the table stays at the table–in a sense. Ensure that whatever conversations, good, bad or indifferent, are addressed and no one feels attacked by voicing thier opinion and or ideas.

2. Forces you to make time- Establishing a schedule as to when your family will have table talk hopefully will force you to see this time as sacred and you’ll value being present–physically and mentally.

3. Creates happiness-Have you ever gotten something off your chest that you feel so good to finally get it out? This is the feeling you will likely have when you can put all your questions on the table. You begin to create a happy place inside!

4. Builds strength- Knowledge is power! Like Jada said at her red table, “Communication is the best way to create strong relationshiops of all kinds.” The more you and your family engage in conversation, the stronger your relationship will be.

5. It’s honest- You may not like everything you hear at the table, but at least it’s honest!

The evenings theme of “Hotel Noir” played off the brands national TV Advertising Campaign and invited guest to reveal stories about their favorite hotel expreiences through a vintage-style phone booth, while enjoying various intriguing elements and top-secret rooms that featured specialty bespoke cocktails.

We teased Monica’s husband Shannon Brown about looking like Chris Brown, drooled over  how amazingly handsome Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince  looked and almost threw our hip out dancing to the tunes of Baby Yu. The night was amazing! Key: Because there is the virsitility in natural hairstyles and they don’t fear letting go of relaxed hair. More freedom and more options!

ATM: Q2. If you shave your hair are you REALLY natural or does relaxer stay in your hair follicles for a period of time?

Key: Yes, you are really natural if you shave down to the new growth or to the scalp…you ARE natural!

ATM: Q3. In your professional Opinion, what’s the biggest misconception about being “natural”?

Key: Lol! That you have to have a certain hairstyle while being natural and if you straighten your hair, you are not natural–which is false!

ATM: Q4. What is co-washing and what is the benefit…or is their a benefit?

Key: Co-washing is wetting the hair and using conditioner to cleanse and moisturize your scalp and hair which should refresh your natural tresses. I personally don’t suggest it nor believe there is a benefit. Clean scalp and hair with shampoo and conditioner=healthy hair!

ATM: Q5. Does flat-ironing naturally kinky curly hair damage the curl patten and should you this method sparingly?

Key: No it doesn’t damage the particular texture if done properly. Yes. Use it sparingly if you plan to wear more natural styles. If afraid of wave pattern changing, straighten when getting a trim or a particular cut. 

ATM: Q6. There are so many products on the market for natural hair. What do you recommend we use to maintain moisture?

ATM: Q7. Do satin scarves/pillowcases really protect our natural hair from breakage and dryness?

Key: Yes, they do help with preserve your natural oils. Cotton extracts the oils from the body and hair.

Key: Whatever is more comfortable for the client…I highly suggest that the client walks through this journey with a professional that specializes in natural hair and textures. Very important!!!

Key: Sure. Wave pattern are define as straight, wavy, & curly. Texture is defined fine, medium, and coarse. 

ATM: Q10. What are some suggestions about styling fine hair?

Key: Ok. Great question. Suggestions for fine hair are rodsets, braid outs, or two strands sets. These styles create volume.

ATM: Q11. Can you explain what it means to be naturally straight?

Key: Of course, Naturally straight is when a professional uses a ceramic flat iron to straighten your naturarual hair.

What are your burning natural hair care questions?

Sources tell us that Nicci looked two snaps fabulous last night! Our source tells us that her hair was long and jet black and she opted for a bright red lip, which by the way everyone couldn’t stop looking at her sparklingly white teeth everytime Nicci smiled. On the other hand we were a little surprised that Faith was said to look a little disheveled as if she hadn’t been to sleep in days. Maybe she’ll have a do over when the show does their last Curvato taping poolside at a private mansion this Saturday.

We can’t wait to see how their friendship plays out on this new series, which is set to premiere sometime between July-September ,and hope that through all of their personal challenges they actually help someone dealing with similar problems.
